"The Art of Connecting"
Crafting the Perfect First Impression
When it comes to property, you only get one chance to make the right first impression. And in the Sydney market, where standards are high and competition is intense, every detail matters.
From commercial to residential, Bowerbird is an interior design and property styling team that excels at connecting people and place. They’ve grown quickly by creating success where it matters: curating environments that set the stage for great experiences, and ultimately, great results.
As futuremakers, we were asked to support Bowerbird in shaping the brand’s next chapter, presenting their offering to the market in a way that hits exactly the right note.
Right from the outset, it was clear they were all about artistry. Through their unique mix of creativity, passion, expertise and dedication, they can see the full potential of a space, and bring that out through their designs.
But they’re not just about stunning spaces. They think hard about the functionality of the location, so that it can meet the needs of whoever’s living, socialising or working in it, be they a tenant, colleague or customer. In this way, they blend form and function across everything they make.
The challenge, then, was to build a brand positioning and identity that married the aesthetic with the strategic; the creative flair with outcomes that create value for their clients, owners and residents. And in a category defined by minimalist branding with little cut-through, the design needed to have more personality, while maintaining the sophistication needed to appeal to clients across a broad range of categories.
If that balance was off even a little, potential clients would switch off and move on.
We built a brand that focused on creating a connection between people and place. On a creative level, they connect people to beautiful spaces and design features, so that they can admire them, appreciate them and enjoy them. And on a strategic level, those spaces connect people to each other, so they can live or work to their full potential.
In this way, their brand footprint is centered “value creation” in the fullest sense of the word, turning their labour and resources into something that meets the needs of others both aesthetically and functionally.
This creative idea translated to a brand identity; a visual territory which celebrates curation and collection, supported by the tagline ‘The Art of Connecting’. At its heart was the ‘BB’ monogram, a seal of quality, taste and also character, without limiting the brand to a particular style or territory.
A flexible colour system (revolving around a signature dusty blue) was introduced, allowing the brand to sub-brand their whole suite of services – from private residential and commercial residential to special projects.
The Result
With a brand identity that emphasises the connection of ideas, people and places without boundaries, anything is now possible for Bowerbird.
By elevating their brand so it’s both creatively appealing and commercially compelling, Bowerbird has the identity it needs to secure new clients, expand their business and, ultimately, meet the high expectations of the Sydney property market during that crucial first call, pitch or meeting.
Because branding isn’t just about building the right identity. It’s about striking the right impression, too.
