As futuremakers, TOAST was engaged to support Bowerbird in shaping the brand’s next chapter, allowing for growth, expansion and success by transforming creative spaces to be deeply experienced, and to be loved.
From the outset of collaborating with the Bowerbird team, it was clear that their strength lay in uncovering value in each space. Through a seamless customer experience, combined with unique creativity, they are a passionate, dedicated team offering advanced operational delivery.
From the smallest of bedrooms to the largest building, every Bowerbird space is highly considered, beautifully designed and professionally delivered to maximise outcomes.
The challenge emerged to establish a brand positioning and identity for Bowerbird that married the aesthetic with the strategic; the creative flair with outcomes that create true value for their clients, owners and residents.
But more so, in a cluttered competitive category defined by minimalist branding with little cut-through, the design challenge became to establish an identity with character and recognition, while maintaining the sense of timeless sophistication necessary to resonate with clients across a broad range of tastes, functions and categories.
Working with Bowerbird, it was clear that core to their design intent is the creation of a connection between people and place. Connecting with possibilities, opportunities, ideas, memories, and self - this is what comes first. It’s about expanding beyond what can be seen, touched and felt to what can be imagined, collected and created through thoughtful curation and unbridled imagination.
Strategic industry analysis, research and a series of collaborative stakeholder workshops revealed an overall brand footprint for Bowerbird around ‘value creation’, building a brand that is of service via the process of turning labour and resources into something that meets the needs of others.
Connecting creative ideas with technical and architectural possibilities, Bowerbird is the collector of places, people and experiences that add value to everyday life and experience. From there, the creative platform of generating value by connecting people and places was established.
This creative idea translated to a brand identity; visual territory which celebrates curation and collection, supported by the tagline ‘The Art of Connecting’. Centred around a ‘BB’ monogram as a seal of quality, taste and professionalism, the identity took shape with a timeless logotype that evokes confidence, character and recognition, without limiting the brand to a particular aesthetic style or territory.
A flexible, tonal colour system celebrating a signature timeless tone of dusty blue was introduced to allow stretch and segmentation across the entire offering; from private residential, to commercial residential, to commercial and special projects.
With a brand identity that facilitates the connection of ideas and perspectives without boundaries - anything is possible for Bowerbird.
